i was pleasantly surprised (although a bit ashamed that i didn't know this important date in history) to hear that my day of birth also marks the anniversary of the supreme court's ruling to desegregate schools.

conversely, i wonder if today will absorb another historic place in our country as gay couples marry. will it be our generations roe v wade?
